@ The cassettes do *not* tell the computer what you have ordered. They tell the computer *how* to prepare what you have ordered. The cassettes contain information about your race's physiological makeup, telling the computer what should be added to the dishes and what should be substituted for to keep you alive, personal dietary information, so you will get the right nutrition and will not get verboten stuff, and personal preference: how spicy you like your food, how to make a Chicago-style pizza, one-lump- or-two, etc. The personal specifications can be over-ridden, and there are several "generic" (racial only) cards on board for surprise passengers. -- -- Dave Long -- {fortune,idi,ios,hplabs,tymix}!oliveb!toml {allegra,ihnp4,msoft,tty3b,uvacs}!oliveb!toml
