********************************* * * * Greetings From The Center * * Of The Known Universe!! * * * ********************************* THE FOLLOWING IS NOT A SERIOUS SUGGESTION, JUST SPECULATION ON A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION!! I ONLY WISH TO EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITIES OF THE SITUATION DESCRIBED BELOW. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EXPRESS YOUR OPINIONS IF YOU WISH, I'D LIKE TO KNOW YOUR VIEWS. I had an interesting thought for a Star Trek and/or a Dr Who storyline. What would you think of having The Doctor pop in on the bridge of the Enterprise-II (?). Might lead to some very interesting plot developments. The combination of both Spock and the Doctor would be fascinating in my opinion. (As well as the rest of the crew.) What do you think about this, does it have any possibilities? What type of story setting/plot would you like to see IF this were to happen? Please POST replies or send EMAIL to IHNP4!IHUXJ!AMRA. I will do my utmost to reply in a timely manner. It would be interesting to see The Doctor as Science Officer, with Capt. Spock at the helm. What a combination that would be. Think what it would do to McCoy having TWO aliens of Spock's & The Doctor's physical/mental make-up. Boy, would he have his hands full. I can imagine what The Doctor's physiology would do to the medical scanners. And let's not forget Scotty. It would be a real sight to see if The Doctor were to get his hands on the warp engines, etc. Poor Mr. Scott would be at his wit's end if this occurred. Which of the Doctors would you like to see in this scenario? I personally would prefer Tom Baker's incarnation but am open to suggestion. Which of the five, (six counting the newest), re-generations of The Doctor would be best for this type of role? Please feel free to send any comments/views/opinions to me. Always enjoy hearing from others. If there is sufficient response I'll post a follow-up in a couple weeks. See you some time between Now & Then... Same Space-Time.... Same Universe!!!! Well its time for me to put my two cents in on the subject. I do on all the other subjects that arise. I think it would be interesting as well, but the suggestion about the Doctor being Science officer and Spock at the helm would be catastrophic. First of all, the Doctor is second in command to no one. (just ask him, his ego is far too inflated). Second, the Doctor's sense of logic is nowhere to be found. His method of problem-solving is sometimes attributed to luck and alot of guessing. His lack of logical solutions would come in direct conflict with Spock's inhuman mind. They would never get along. I am a Doctor Who fan myself, and this is my view. The only way I can see it is if the Doctor runs the show in his usual nonchalant manner. I know the Trekkies aren't going to agree with me on this, but the Doctor simply has no boss!! Let's hear from the Trekkies on this, Doctor T. ..!ihnp4!ihu1g!jjsk

{ Doctor Who? Yes. What? No, Who. } I have seen only a bit of one episode of Doctor Who. Wasn't exceedingly impressed, but from what I have heard of the writing, it doesn't sound that bad. However, my knowledge of Doctor Who is limitted. Which brings up a question: They travel around in something called a Tardis, which makes itself look inconspicuous for the time. What could it look like on the bridge? A turbo elevator? -- Peter Merchant

[I'm a doctor, not a Time Lord!] Some time ago, there were a number of you talking about "The Doctor and the Enterprise". Well, hobbit got his copy back, and now I have it again. The story was written by Jean Airey, a member of the Prydonian Renegades (a Dr. Who fan club based in Columbus, Ohio -- yes, the same people who gave you Panopticon West 1984!). It was a special issue of Zeta Minor, the magazine of the Prydonian Renegades. To get your copy, send $6.00 (includes first class postage) to: Jean Airey 6626 Rocky Den Road Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 (BTW, Jean is also a contributing writer to Fantasy Empire magazine.)
