The following is an updated version of my earlier plot "STIV:In Search
of Carol Marcus".
Star Trek IV:In Search Of a Shorter Plot!
Like before it opens with Kirk refusing to give back the Bird-of-Prey
until exxoneration for all his crew (and himself) is given along with a
trans warp Enterprise. When the Feds refuse,Kirk and company recieve asylum
on Vulcan only to find out that plans to the now successful trans warp drive
have been stolen by Klingon spies!
Again Kirk gets the help of his friends to go after them in the neutral zone.
They come across the space station in which the new trans warp Klingon ship
is docked. With the help of Maltz (who is somewhat like Vrenn in `The Final
Reflection',you know,peaceful at heart)they infiltrate the station,destroy
the computer containing the material and appropriate the Klingon trans warp
wessel ((-:) and take off for Federation space. (The wessel happens to be
a scout class or very similar to one). It easily out runs the pursueing
Klingons and gets home safely.
Now you may say that the Klingons may accuse the Federation of trying to
start a war...but since Kirk was acting on his own the Federation claims that
it has no knowledge of the event. And the Feds are more than happy to accept
the new Klingon wessel and give into Kirk's demands.
So now we can start off fresh for ST V !!!
YA ST IV plot was not only too long to read but was certainly too
long for a two hour movie. It did get Kirk out of trouble but I don't
want to see the crew separated that much or the introduction of
another enemy(two are enough thank-u!!).
Now on the lighter side,here's a bit of trivia;
Did you know that William Shatner was born on March 22,1931 and
Leonard Nimoy was born on March 26,1931 !!! Four days apart!!!
(Shatner isn't the only one that is getting old.)
