An interesting question. I feel that the Genesis wave effect was pretty minimal (if at all) by the time the planet started to age and break apart. The proto-matter was unstable, causing the rapid aging and not really acting upon the matter that the Genesis wave created. However, it could have affected the anti-matter in some way. But I suspect that the "explosion" would have been even greater, not contained since the planet exploded just as Kirk and company were leaving in the Klingon ship. "DEATH TO ALL ZAEON PIGS!"
