*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE, DEAR *** All this talk about the Enterprise's shuttlecrafts reminded me that they also used one called the Galileo II. It had the same number as the old Galileo (NCC/1701-7) which was destroyed in the episode 'Galileo Seven'. I believe the Galileo II was used in a couple of episodes but the one I remember was "The Way To Eden". Guess adding a 'II' was cheaper than paint- ing on a brand new name for the prop department. Reguarding the fact that the stardates used in the Captain's Log were not in ascending order from show to show: In the book 'The Makeing Of Star Trek' (probally long out of print) it mentions that when the shows were filmed they did increase the stardate from episode to episode. Unfortunatly, the shows were not shown in the same order in which they were filmed, causing the confusion. Gene Rodenberry later said that in order to explain this dis- crepency they decided to say that the irregular change in the stardate from episode to episode was to adjust it for the area of space and the warp at which they were traveling, sort of like adjusting for different time zones. -- Kevin Thompson {ucbvax,ihnp4!nsc}!voder!kevin "It's sort of a threat, you see. I've never been very good at them myself but I'm told they can be very effective."
