On the startrek episode I saw today (It was the one with an alien who was half black / half white) they used the self-destruct sequence to scare the alien and stop him from controlling the ship. My question is, on this episode, they had to go through some long protracted sequence to enable self-destruct (where scotty and spock each had to arm the machine) - BUT I'm sure that on another episode, they armed self-destruct much easier -- with a short command to the computer. Am I wrong?? Also, there were some terrible shots of the red alert light flashing, they would zoom the camera in and out on the red light - IT WAS ABSOLUTELY MORONIC. Oh well...
