Sorry to post this to both groups, but since some folks on ARPA
don't get net.startrek............
I just got done reading a story treatment by John Flynn. This
is the same guy whose treatment of STIII was almost exact, except for
Romulans in the treatment being replaced with Klingons, etc. Here's the
basic scoop:

The story opens with Federation security personnel arresting
Kirk on Vulcan. Once on Earth, Kirk's trail begins with absoultly no
contention of innocence from Kirk. Meanwhile, Captain Sulu has been
given command of a light cruiser, and with the rest of the normal crew,
except for Spock and McCoy, go off to recover the Genisis data, which
was inadvertantly ejected from the Bird of Prey unbeknownst to anyone at
the time. In the middle of Kirk's trial, during which he has been
representing himself with no consul at all, A transporter beams three
people into the middle of the courtroom. These people are Spock, McCoy,
and none other than Samuel T. Cogley (from Courtmartial) much to Admiral
Turner's consternation. Things begin to turn around, and when the trial
is just about over, Turner asks to see Kirk in his quaters. Turner
informs Kirk that he wants him to go on a secret mission. Sulu and crew
have been caputured by a certain Klingon Commander (Kor, from the
episode with the Orgainains.. forgive me, I can't remember the name)
who is also looking for the Genisis data. Kirk beams up to Spacedock,
gets ready to leave in the Bird of Prey, and finds Spock,Scott, and
McCoy waiting. They take off, and after some gyrations rescue both the
genesis data and their friends, and also manage to kill off some Klingons
in the process..... I won't go into details here, if anyone wants them,
feel free to e-mail. Upon arrival in Earth orbit, while preparing to
dock in Space Dock, Sulu receives a message from Turner:"Congratulations
on a successful first mission. Would like to discuss with you personally
permanant promotion to full Captain at your convinence. Admiral Kirk
has been given a full pardon. Please ask him to see me at his convinence
for assignment as Fleet Commander" As they pull into Space Dock, Kirk
looks out and sees an Excelsior class ship, newly comissioned. Her name?
ENTERPRISE II. Spock says to Kirk "I know what you're thinking, My
friend.".......And the Adventure Continues..
