As for female characters who went on to pose for magazine centerfolds, let's not forget Joan Collins, who was in the episode in which a crazed McCoy is pursued by Kirk and Spock to 1930's Earth. While Spock is constructing a sophisticated electronic device with "stone knives and bearskins," Joan runs a soup kitchen 'til she is run over by an automobile.
