[net.startrek] Drinking games; ST-IV plot

rblanders@watrose.UUCP (Robyn Landers) (03/29/85)

First of all, I don't condone drinking for sport. So much for preaching,
Now on with the fun.

How about a drink for each time poor unliberated Uhura says
  "hailing frequencies open sir"
At least Nichelle Nichols had an easy job, only one line of script to
memorize for most episodes, with a "I'm sorry sir, I can't get through"
or some such excuse thrown in for good measure.
Another good way to get plastered quick would be every time Scotty says
"The engines canna take it nae more, she's gonna blow any minute!"
There are scads and scads of such lines, so I shan't continue.

Regarding the plot summary of ST-IV, if someone sat down with all the
speculations posted on this newsgroup in the last little while and picked
out all the serious ones and put them together, it couldn't be much closer
than that "official" plot summary!! Am I too suspcious? Is it all a
coincidence (after all, us dedicated Trekkers should be just as good at
coming up with a reasonable film plot as the Hollywood people are...)

If you want to get REALLY DRUNK, then just take a drink every time Spock
raises his eyebrow. Or for a really fun one, take one every time the
turbolift makes it's unique 'swoosh' sound.
