Star Trek is LOADED with inconsistencies - I don't think there's a show where something stupid/inconsistent, etc. doesn't happen. The wonder is, I still like the show, and enjoy watching it. One show that really had me puzzled is the one called (I think) "Miri" about a planet where the adults (grups) have killed themselves off with some sort of virus that was supposed to extend life, but only does so until puberty (the children live about 300 yrs), at which time they turn into horrible monsters and die. What I wonder about is that at the very beginning the Enterprise comes across an S.O.S. beacon, at which point they remarked that it was an old earth-style beacon in a quadrant which had never been visited before, by the federation at least. Then, when they hit the planet, it's an EXACT duplicate of Earth, with the right continents, no cloud cover, and all. It's astonishing! How did a thing like this happen!?! Well, they leave it at that, and never mention it again. Was there a line of explanation somewhere that got cut in the re(n)-run? Was there an ambitious idea that ran out of money? Anyone want to make a 'nitpick' list of inconsistencies in the episodes? It would probably be too long. still faithful, - rene

In several of the first season episodes, (The Corbomite Maneuver to name one), Spock refers to his parents (specifically his mother), in the past tense. However, in the second season we meet her in Journey To Babel.
