"Dunsel", if I'm quoting Spock correctly, "is a term used by mid shipmen at the academy, for a part which serves no useful purpose". Kirk was refered to as "Captain Dunsel", when the M5 was taking care of all operations abord the Enterprise and Kirk had nothing to do. The M5 later destroyed the Excalibur NCC 1705, on its second attack, one of 4 Heavy Cruiser Class Starships taking part in the M5 drills. The other three starships were the Lexington, NCC 1703, the Hood, NCC 1707 and the Potempkin, NCC 1711. By the by, during WWII ships such as the USS Lexington and USS Yorktown were known as the Lexington Class because that was the First Ship made from that set of plans. All sister ships are then of that same class. Does this mean that the Heavy Cruiser Class may be the Constitution Class since its number is NCC (Naval Construction Contract) 1700? The Star Fleet Tech manual refers to them as the MK IX class as origionally authorized by the Articles of Federation.

I don't know exactly where, but in several places (in literature), the class is referred to as the Constitution Class. -- Mike Stalnaker UUCP:{decvax!decuac, cbosgd, seismo}!dolqci!mike AT&T:202-376-2593 USPS:601 D.
