To settle the eyeglasses question... The glasses in "A Piece of the Action" were worn by Bela Oxmyx, played by Lee Delano. Vic Tayback played his rival boss, Jojo Krako. (Oxmyx' name was spelled "Okmyx" in previous versions of the script, which explains this alternate spelling of his name on Krako's target poster of him.) If you look closely at the transporter room sequence in Part I of "The Menagerie," when Pike's landing party is beaming down to Talos IV, one of the two transporter console attendants is wearing glasses in one camera cut, but the glasses are gone in the next cut. Also, check the launch personnel at McKinley Base in "Assignment Earth." I believe one of them is wearing glasses (it may be Launch Director Cromwell). As for the party scene in "Journey to Babel," that's a new one on me. I've seen still shots of that scene but never noticed glasses. Hope this clears everything up.
