To Adam Janin: The episode where Spock punched instead of pinching is "Return of the Archons". To answer the question regarding the STAR TREK pilots. The first pilot episode titled "The Cage" with Jeffrey Hunter was, as we all know, turned down by NBC. It was edited and shown in the form we have seen in the episode "The Menagerie". The missing scenes are kinda cute. Pike returns to his bridge after Enterprise reaches Talos IV and bumps into his lovely Yeoman. He says to his female executive that he is not used to having women on the bridge to which she gives him a puzzled look and he replies that it is different in her case. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Down in the cell when Pike wakes up we get a look at a some of the animals in other cells. The briefing room scene is a bit longer, so is Pike's fight with the warrior. A line edited out was when Pike asks Vina why she is dressed in the same material as the Talosians to which she replies "Well I have to wear something, don't I?". Not bad for a 1964 t.v. show. There are a few more bits and pieces but the most important scene I will not tell you about because I think you should really see it for yourself. "The Cage" only exists as a black and white copy, Gene Roddenberry is the only person who has a copy, as far as I know. If you can get a chance to hear him lecture some place his program usually consists of talk, bloopers, talk, more bloopers, talk Q&A and finally the original uncut Star Trek pilot. Really a good take in for an evening. Now following "The Cage" NBC approved a second pilot for Star Trek (probably the nicest thing they ever did for Trek) "Where No Man Has Gone Before" written by Sam Peeples brought Star Trek to t.v. As for the ship's doctor in that episode Paul Fix played the role of Dr. Mark Piper. Parwez Wahid
