Someone mentioned that the transporter is used in "Metamorphesis". I don't think so. Mr. Scott and the ship found their way to the planetoid where Kirk and crew had been hijacked and Scotty contacted them via communicator. As I remember Kirk, Spock and McCoy leave Cochraine and Hedford+Companion and walk back to the shuttle craft. I did think of another episode for the question about double Kirks. I mentioned "Enemy Within" where Kirk fights his evil half. A double would be needed for the close up contact. This would also be needed in "Whom Gods Destory" when Garth duplicates himself as Kirk and fights with the Captain. On another front I heard something about STAR TREK IV. Rumor has it that the story for the fourth movie will not a sequel to STAR TREK III. The story will take place before the WRATH OF KHAN. Who knows what is going to happen. Supposedly filming will begin in November for release in June of 1986. The original plan was for a release in December of 1986 but track record shows that s.f. movies in December don't make it. Last year's STARMAN, 2010, and DUNE were pretty much bombs in that they did not make the earnings as expected. So with STAR TREK IV on such a tight schedule can we expect the worst? I do believe you are correct... I just saw this the other night here in Columbus. I feel quite sure that Scotty told Kirk that the shuttlecraft bay was ready to receive them (just before they left). "Captain, don't tell them about me". "Not a word, Mister Cochran". Or something close to that... Scott(y, our Spock plugs are Warped!)
