Re: Leonard Nimoy and the gesture Spock makes with "Live long and prosper," I saw a TV show where Nimoy explains this gesture (see other articles for origin given). He said that the actress playing T'Pau never was able to do the gesture and they finally did a close shot with another woman's hand, reaching up from below camera, next to T'Pau's face. Anyway that's what Nimoy said. I plan to check it out next time they re-run that episode ("Amok Time"). Jerry Aguirre {hplabs|fortune|ios|tolerant|allegra|tymix}!oliveb!jerry

I tried to mail this as a letter and my system would not mail it, so I decided to post it on the net. In article <541@utflis.UUCP> you write: > >I agree. Nimoy asked Celia Lovsky (T'Pau) if she could 'do this' when >they were discussing how to greet each other and since she could (Shatner >had to tie his fingers together in Search for Spock), they devised the >bit of business on the spot. Celia Lovsky could not do the salute. They had to put her hand in the position just before it was used. This is from Nimoy's lips at the last ST convention that I attended. Nimoy was the guest speaker. "Live Long and Prosper!" Michael N. Washington TRW E&DS Redondo Beach, Ca. 90278 {ucbvax, decvax, hplabs}!trwrb!trwrba!mnw
