I can think of two epiosdes off the top of my head: [1] Who Mourns For Adonais? -- Chekov comments that Apollo looked weak just before he disappeared and perhaps he was off somewhere "recharging his batteries". "Chekov, you may have just earned you pay for the week". [2] The Doomsday Machine -- With the ship almost out of power Kirk exclaims that he wish he had some phasers (thinking he didn't), and Scotty surprises him by telling he that he already had one bank recharged.
