But considering the state of disrepair that these sets get into between movies (even standing sets that are never struck), it IS notable that it was lit up and used as the scene of the interview. I don't think they'd go to all that trouble to get a bridge set in working condition just for a TV interview. That implies that we'll see that set or a redress of it in ST4. Could be another ship of that class, could be some sort of flashback to the Enterprise. Or it could be the training simulator. By the way, how did Doohan look? -- Roger Noe ihnp4!riccb!rjnoe

Re my posting about CBC interviews taped recently on the Enterprise bridge set and subsequent question by steve:^) Yes, the set was clearly identified by the interviewer as the *Enterprise* bridge. Yes, I know there are other Constitution class Starships, however I am not aware of any other constitution ships having been upgraded to the new movie configuration. Indeed, Starfleet's decision to scrap the Enterprise relatively soon after the costly upgrade seems to imply that the retrofitting was not generally successful. Indeed *Enterprise* may have been the only such ship upgraded (as a test). In the movies, the other bridge sets we saw were redressings of the Enterprise set, but had different color schemes and furniture arrangements. I'm pretty confident that this was indeed the same set usually referred to as the Enterprise bridge. How did Doohan look in the CBC interviews? Sad to say, old and flabby (you think he could do better for the network that gave him his start!) In fact, it was Doohan's aged condition more than anything else that convinced me that the CBC interviews were current and not just some stuff they'd dusted off from the archives to fill a few minutes of airtime. (something like the USS Constitution sailing ship the CG has on the east coast). So this would mean that is *was* the only one of it's kind around during II and III ??? I leave this to the net to ponder.... Greg ------------------ <My views are not those of the Boeing Co. The training simulator has "No Smoking on Bridge" signs on the walls, the actual bridge does not. I saw no such signs on the Enterprise bridge in the CBC interviews. RJS c/o -- Tom Nadas UUCP: {decvax,linus,ihnp4,uw-beaver,allegra,utzoo}!utcsri!tom CSNET: tom@toronto
