OK guys, I saw the last scene of a Star Trek episode and can't figure
out which it is.

Sulu says something like "Ready, to warp out captain". Then, when Kirk
doesn't answer, Spock, who has a small bandage on his forehead, asks
Kirk if anything is wrong. Kirk says something like "Nothing, I was
just thinking about the buffer". I'm not sure about the word buffer,
I couldn't hear it clearly. The only other thing I can tell you is that
Bones was standing to the right of Kirk.

Please send me mail since my native machine does not carry the net and
therefore do not often get a chance to read it.

Close. The word was actually "buffalo." The episode in question
is "The Man Trap." Kirk is making a reference to Professor Crater's
words about the buffalo and the fact that the Nancy/creature was also
"the last of its kind."

It's the BUFFALO, not the buffer. The episode is MAN TRAP
