Here is the latest news on ST IV, straight from the Creations Conventions in New York City and Baltimore. Walter Koenig (NYC) and George Takei (Balt) have both said that shooting will start on February 24. Further, they have said that shots will be made on location in San Francisco and Monterey, California--without fixing any 23rd century scenes there. They alluded to time-travelling, but refused to answer anything direct. Koenig did say that Eddie Murphy might appear, but made no committments. The Enterprise (as we knew her) will not be shown, but Takei said that, just like the death of Spock, we will find the writers' solution as satis- fying. And according to Hikaru, all the bridge crew are looking foward to another successful movie, especially director Nimoy. Both Koenig and Takei said that ST IV will be ready in early December, in time for the 20th anniversary of Star Trek. Finally, the title is in fact >The Adventure Continues<, but both actors hope this boring title is changed. From both actors, ''live long and prosper.'' -- "My favorite kind of diplomacy is a fully charged phaser bank." In the letter column of the latest issue of the Star Trek comic from DC, mention is made of the upcoming movie. What they said (which I believe has Paramount's "blessing") was that shooting would be in Timbuktu (?) and on Paramount's back lot. Someone here mentioned SF and Monterey. I don't know if either version is incorrect or maybe both are correct. Two issues from now, by the way, will be another Diane Duane story centering on McCoy (Issue 28, I think); this summer's annual issue will also concern the good Doctor--what happened to him after the "five year mission" and what prompted him to leave Star Fleet at that time. ========================================= "Laddie--Doon't ya think ya shoold...rephrase that?" He more or less said right out that there would be shooting at Monterey. Jon Kay UUCP: seismo!umcp-cs!jhunix!ins_ajsk ARPA: ins_ajsk%jhunix.BITNET@wiscvm.wisc.edu BITNET: ins_ajsk@jhuvms.BITNET
