[net.startrek] Squire of Gothos

(I am reposting this as our sight just discovered that many recent articles
never went out. If you've read it before, sorry 'bout that.)

Last week, our local station aired 'The Squire of Gothos'. Trelane mentioned
that he was studying earth and was surprised that earthlings were capable of
such a voyage. Our heros noted that Trelane was about 900 years in the past,
as though he had been watching through a telescope etc. etc.

Well, that was fine. Giving that Star Trek takes place about 200 years in our
future, that puts the scene at about the mid 1300's. But later on in the
episode, Trelane makes mention that he truly admires Napolean. This moves
us to the 1800's. Did I miss something??
