Does this mean that net.poems is basically illegal, except for original work?

c I've seen a lot of articles titled, like this one, "Re: massive copyright violations on the net". Funny thing is, I never saw the one that apparently started it. I myself have copied a few poems of current authors into net.poems (I assume that quoting shakespear is all right?). It seemed to me that calling attention to perhaps little-known authors is beneficial to those authors. This was on my mind at the time. There has to be some distribution of material to sell more of it. If anyone has any idea what was said to start the copyright discussion, I'd appreciate hearing it. (Everybody get together, now, and only send ONE copy.) Mark E. Mallett

Net.poems is not basically illegal, if you give credit where credit is due. Personally, I feel that anything witty enough is either original or has had its copyright expired a long time ago.
