                FEELINGS FROM A TELEPHONE CALL

        Sweaty Palm. Knots & Butterflies in your stomach.
        Pick up the phone and dial.
        Every ring six seconds of anxious eternity.
        The ringing stops, you hear the voice you both longed for,
        yet dreaded.
        The bottom falls out of yur stomach as you answer their greeting.
        You finally ask.
        They say, "Yes."
        You finish, hang up, and break your face from smiling.
        You forget the fears and reservations of the previous minutes.

                                OR

        They say, "No."
        You finish, hang up, sit down and release a forlorn sigh.
        However, in a little while you realize that you are still you;
                        no better, and no worse.
