[net.poems] Sylvia"s Death - The Tear

toms@syteka.UUCP (06/24/83)

As pass'd my unbelieving eyes
Over again this dislpay screen
I did begin anance to cry
And soon I shall commence to scream

For awful was the drivel there vomited
The rhythms so jerky the rhymes so lame
I wished to seee the world with bombs atomited
so that the future would be without that one from whence they came

Once in net.poems I read a little piece
Which my heart did gladden, and did my lips to mile make
                                              (smile)
My interest, yea, did so shortly cease
with endless yapping of God and God far more than I can take

Mjhauk with rhymes far worse than these
Bad ideas brutally twisted to make a "poem"
And now the birdman of Hocch-ptui flees
Soddenly into the flaming golden Orb of the Sun and I want to go home

It doesn't have to rhyme to be a poem, boys and girls,
And just because it does doesn't mean it is, and often means it isn't,
And these aren't, and I am afraid you are total squirrels,
And please leave your notebooks home next time you come to visit.
