Well, you doomsayers who said that AOR is dead are wrong again!
During the Spring Mini-Book (Jan 3 to March 27) you CHR fans haven't
been able to keep up the pressure in several major markets...
Cleveland: WMMS(FM) #1 (12.8)
Boston: WBCN(FM) #1 (9.0)
Philadelphia:WMMR(FM) #2 (7.6) (KYW(AM) was #1)
St. Louis: KSHE(FM) ?? (11.6 -healthy in any book!)
NYC: WNEW(FM) ?? (4.9) - Highest in 19 year period
The previous ratings were courtesy of Broadcasting, the News
Magazine of the Fifth Estate, May 6, 1985, page 96. Must be that
Kent Burkhardt has finally stepped outside and gotten some fresh
air...people can't live with 6 fm's/market constantly playing Sade'
Madonna and Power Station.
People prefer top 40 audience erosion...sheeeeeze.
