[net.poems] From an old notebook #1

I walked on a silver plain
	Three great structures stood over
One bathing me in red light
	Another hot and silent
	The last screaming perpetually
	All was dark covered over
Save for a light in the west
	And the constant dusty wind.

I felt currents racing beneath my feet,
	Hurried messengers of waving electrons
And a hum came through the breeze
	Hinting of transformed energy
The silver gave way to murky glass,
But still there were glinting domes in the distance
An infinity of pits, deep and dark
Another silver sea, then a black wall under the lights
Smooth and hard, letting none pass
Nowhere to go, nothing avails in this the perpetual gloom.
