Come closer my friend
Let me touch your stiff shoulders
There now, That sigh spoke of a
thousand battles you never seem to win.
Sit down, let me hold your hands
They are cold, when was the last time
You noticed touching them together?
And when was the last time you noticed,
really noticed, touching anything?
What did it feel like
And did it say what you wanted it to say?
Talk with me my friend
Tell me what it is you'd like to say
Just as if you felt safe enough to share
The thoughts that are trapped inside those tears
Yes, I understand, it was scary at first,
Telling me what you thought were your secrets
Oh, now you laugh,
Well, that sigh was lighter, freer
Thank me? For What?
For a touch, a tear and a talk?
It sounds like a new soap opera
Sorry, I embarrass easily
I do accept your thanks most humbly
And I will ask something in return
Take this experience with you
Walk tall and lightly
Notice how that feels, to feel good
Greet your loved ones in a way
That they experience your love
And remember to touch a tense shoulder
Every now and then
And give yourself to that moment
Thank YOU, I feel full and touched myself
Maybe I wouldn't have noticed myself
Had I not taken time to Be with you.
Sorry, I don't know the author or title. Does anyone know? Please let me
know if you do.
