Why do you come back now?
Why, after all this time, do you come back now?
You have been gone for almost three years.
I have had to stop my life you a while,
to release the new scraped wounds of old fears.
When you left, there were many unanswered questions.
I had no idea what you were wanting from me.
When we met, you made it quite clear you would leave
in the Fall, when the leaves would clear their home tree.
Was it harder on you? Harder for you to leave?
Did you not realize that our love was meant to be?
If only for the short time that we had it.
You, if any one, you should know that love is free.
Why, after all this time, do you come back now?
You want to apologize to me for what was in the past,
That is all I know right now. Why after all this time?
As in the past, it has been coming to me too fast.
We both fought our new found love at first.
You didn't want to get involved with any of this.
We were going to enjoy our friendship and part.
We were fooling ourselves. We knew better with our kiss.
We get what is asked for and we did manifest it.
We created the energy of our parting that Fall.
We never did create the ending of our feelings.
We didn't create anything with that last phone call.
Why, after all this time, do you come back now?
