I Can't Even Tell You
If I could I'd tell the world
but then I can't
I can't even tell you
I'd like to make love with you
I'd tell you secrets no one knows
I'd take you places only I can
We'd be a song always sung in harmony
Always in time together
But lets be honest
You're happy now
I can't even tell you
when the pain pulls me to the floor
Or tears fall on an empty life
When sleep comes what I dream
I run and stumble and finally fall
And can't bother to rise
So I sit and meditate
and gently speak rhymes
I can't even tell you
And I move through a day I don't see
I move through faces that don't mean
I move through places that aren't real
Think of times and people past
And I can't even tell you.
Thoughts
It's dark here
The room is large
and echos with each sound
I can feel your breathing
Not close, yet not far away
Did you leave
Or were you never here
There is a scream
I'm shaken to my feet
Was the voice my own?
Sound of laughter invade
The castle walls breached once again
I search, not finding
this maze of life still bewilders
Silence overwhelms me
Have you gone
don't answer

Of all forms of caution, caution in love is the most fatal.
