shared lives

pieces and glimpses of real life sticks through
in our walks and talks and gripes.
I can see some of the your struggles about self
hopes and fears hardly expressed.
from both of us.

the binding of two as one is so evident.
the intricate parts are known to both, part of both.
you walk, she breathes, she looks, you focus.
sometimes you bump together, and the two part of the one is prominent.
but not for long.
one leg learns to walk again with the other.

it's a tangled web, of parts strewn all over.
pieces never quite recovered after they are given out.
it's the web that supports, once the pieces are gone.
in the sharing is the living
to take it back is to die.
