			***

That dawn again... The same and not the same.
My heart, my heart, why cannot you be tame?
So what that she left, so what?
	It was simply my lot.

There is no need to speak, there is no need to cry.
What has passed -- that shall never return.
	Yet my soul, abandoned, forlorn,
Can't forget -- please do not ask me why.

And only yesterday... An age, an eon passed.
That what I thought was gold -- devoured rust.
	An indifferent judgement of fate,
	That simply came late.

There is no need to speak, there is no need to cry.
What has passed -- that shall never return.
	Yet my soul, abandoned, forlorn,
Can't forget -- please do not ask me why.

		A Song

	It has always so been:
	God is nowhere seen,
	Everyone is ruled by Gold,
	Everything is bought and sold.
On the earth and on the sea,
In the sky -- wherever we
	Ever take our abode,
	Everywhere where the road
Takes us, all we crave for same:
	Gold and Power and Fame.
We forget what we were made
For by God, and what he bade
Us to do: to fight for Him
Till hand's weak and mind is dim.
	Did the Prometheus' fire
	Get extinguished, or just tired?
It has rested for too long!
Let us wake it with this song!

                    ***

I'm not a coward. I am not afraid
	To vanish somewhere
			from where there's no return.
In this world, I for everything have paid.
	I shall not curse it,
			but I shall not mourn.

When time shall come, I'll leave -- with no regret.
	Great happiness I gained,
and what I gained I lost.
At least I 'm now not in Fortune's debt:
	For mortgage I have paid
			the highest cost.
