[net.poems] odd poetry composed during a boring CS100 lecture

worp@ih1ap.UUCP (Roger Espinosa) (06/13/85)

[It all started with a rather interesting chemistry lecture when the
guest speaker said if induced properly, molecules could produce sounds,
i.e. "sing"...then came the boring CS100 Fortran lecture (when is FORTRAN
never boring?)...so here's the first of the series...]

opus one (VI Mars MCMLXXXV)

the bells of anarchy fill the air
the rise of chaos is their doom
the sands of time do run out
	the masses fleeing, running, shouting
where is the peace? where is the joy?
where is humanity, once might and strong?
the world is melted, the skies are ashen
the sun is blown, bulging, reddened
where is the end? where is the beginning?
where is the starting? where is the finale?
eschaton lies low at only one time
armageddon ceases at a singular point
when the music of the molecules fill the air
when the music of the molecules starts all time*

*****

And, as this was spontaneously composed in March, and class ended
in May, and physics was just as boring...oh well...be prepared for
the saga of
                         	the
			m usi	c
				of
				the
	m	o	l	ecu	l	e	s

                         songs for the new
				dawn

bye!

and if you dream in color
do you live your life in black and white?
