Why, among the poets of today Is verse called "free" invariably employed? And all the hallowed forms of poet's lay Are now extinguished which I once enjoyed? The charm of ordered verse is put away, The eye by disjoint ramblings is annoyed I fear the reason why in this fact lies: Free verse can make the words of fools sound wise.
