Rainbow Search 9/23/85

I search for rainbows
In a cave beneath the earth
Where the sun last touched, several billion years ago
In a time when the earth was peaceful
But peace is so fragile, even to granite
This place saw rainbows free of pollution
Since man had yet to walk this planet

The rainbows I find are pure
Never seen by man or beast
They restore to me the freshness I lost
And the purity of purpose, for surviving
Brilliances of color, flowing into color
I will carry them back to the surface
As part of my heart, and my smile

To the world I will bring these rainbows
Rainbows are promises of God, to mankind
Beauty natural, unspoiled by mans interferences
From a time man can not comprehend
I throw the rainbows into the skies
Letting mankind share the renewal
And I become lost in their color
