[net.poems] Misty Morning

I'd like to say that I really liked the _Kiwi_Fruit_ piece displayed
a couple weeks ago. I'd like to see more free form, especially more
"twentieth century" kinds of writing. Is anyone else interested in
this?

This is a reflection experienced one morning.

Gazing out the window, I became fascinated with the heavily misty,
translucent medium called "outside". In the early dawn lighting, outside
yellowed and appeared additionally thick; there were no horizons as the
density softened and obscured much detail. I barely could see the
surrounding buildings, but they were defined enough to realize soft bends
otherwise perceived as corners. Adjacent faces separated by narrow passage
ways seemed to be folds of a continuous substance wrapping in and out of
itself, and I imagined the surface to extend without end from my point of
view, convoluting ... curving ... twisting ... turning, filled with the
congealing cloud that was so pervasive. Having fixed on this scene for a
few minutes without being aware of the time, an understanding came to me of
what my brain must have been going through after a night of overuse and
lack of sleep.
