Because this painting on the wall Is comprehensible to all The critics jeer. Remove it hence And bring me something void of sense. And I'll bet this is not just applicable to painting. The same seems appropriate to sculpture and literature. Ah well. David Russell Brake I, Esq. "Whenever people agree with me, I always feel I must be wrong" -O. It is also the battle cry of the ignorant and unimaginitive. And which it happens to be (apt or stupid) is often not at all obvious. Especially to the unimaginitive. Ah well. Mr. Winslow, Unfortunately, YOUR reply to my message is also used by those "artists" who seem to me patently misguided or deliberately exploitive of the artistic community. "They just don't understand my great master-work" is not a terribly convincing reply, I'm afraid. To give just one example, as an experiment, several art assessors were given a painting painted by a chimpanzee, and were asked to price it. The consensus was about $10,000. -- -- Reid Ellis "It *is* Space Invaders!!" {{allegra,decvax,duke,floyd,linus}!utzoo,{ihnp4,utzoo}!utcsri}!dciem!reid This message brought to you courtesy of the Poslfit Committee
