				TIME

Oh, the ghosts of all those lonely days
And the cries of things that might have been
Yet haunt me, like a forgotten song
And shelter underneath my skin.

And, yes, I contain multitudes:
Memories, wishes, songs of dreams;
Half-remembered people, without names;
Old friends, and many more;

I am a holder of the past, a collector of tomorrow;
Remember me; I, Time alone,
Can show you the way and the door.

                                TIME

   You say time heals all wounds? Oh no, it inflicts the most
   severe scars. The flesh never quite grows back the same. Dis-
   tance, in days or in miles, never changes the reality.

   I think time heals nothing at all, but the events in time push
   and shove at the memories of others. So it is experience and
   growth which heals. And then perhaps, the wounds were never
   wounds at all.
