I HATE new-process Polariod pictures
and their habit of lasting so long
With their carelessly accurate colors
and no notion of where they belong
They hide themselves well in your sock drawer
in the leaves of a book you once read
They turn up in the middle of cleaning
and come scooting from under your bed
Those old-process Polariod pictures
would ball up and soon turn to dust
They were just black-and-white to begin with
And had tones that the blind would not trust
These new ones just go on forever
their tones save emotions in hue
Every year I forget your face, Love,
and then there's this picture of you
I HATE new-process Polariod pictures
hasn't Land something better to do?
