The sun was casting its last rays over the horizon
And darkness fast enveloping the world
I sat in solitude watching the beauty of the twilight sun
And the stars and the moon take over the skies.

	Soon my mind wandered
Into long lost yesterdays and distant thoughts
Memories, sweet and sad, crowded around me
Like hungry vultures around their prey
The memories flashed before my mind's eye
	Strong and clear
And soon the past turned into the present
	If only momentarily ...

Those dim voices from the past, momentarily eternal
That stretched out to reach through time and distance
Those unerasable images from the backpages of life
That, like a flower at dawn, became a joy to behold
	Those distant sounds of laughter
Still ringing in the ear, loud and clear
	Those muffled sighs of sorrow
Silenced by the passage of time
	Those long forgotten childhood summers
When the simpler things in life still gave happiness
In the solitude of the night
As I walked alone, in the garden of memories
The unforgettable moments of the life gone by
Became nostalgic realities, if only momentarily ...
