 Did you say O2 backup, as in o x y g e n ??? This is very dangerous. If
you mean that you are using a spare compressed-air source for inflation
of your BC, then assuming the air is properly filtered/washed/scrubbed-of-
chemicals,dust and NOx/dried and etc...then, it's a backup source of diver's
breathing mixture. P-) ("..AAAHHHRRGG! Oh HAHAHAHAH!!! Surprise! it's really
Nitrous Oxide!  ....hahahaha! GLUB!BLURB!..")
 A friend of mine is into mixed-gas and (he's a PRO and uses a 7-bottle rig
with a Kirby-Morgan helmet no less!) recommends that dry-nitrogen USP be
used for inflation of BC's. Lastly, if you want flexibility, consider a true
pony-bottle setup only utilized with something like the Scubapro AIR ][, this
would provide you with a breathable backup, that nominially only adjusts your
buoyancy.  Breathe continously!
