A friend said he never saw this, and, since I haven't seen any further discussion and have not had any replies, I'm am posting it again under the assumption the first posting never made it. It is with respect to the recent discussion about decompression computers: ******************************* The old computers that are real bad are based on some substance which expands with N2 during a dive, correct? Are not the new decompression computers just integrated depth gauges and watches with tables built in? Allowing the tables to be driven real time during a dive? If not, why hasn't this approach been tried (or has it)? Can someone describe the mechanisms involved in the 1st to Nth generation decomp. computers? I, for one, am very interested. Also, how about some heavy (~1/4 in) wet suit recommendations, and places/mail order catalogues to get them cheap. And have any of you out there used any booties with zippers in COLD (ie ~50 F) water. How'd they stand up (no pun intended)?
