[net.rec.scuba] Cold Water

Arrr, Billy! Time to put on them extra pair of Stanfields and go diving!
We all knows that there's the best vis in the winter. So what if we freezes
our hoses? Why, up here in British Columbia, we don't even *like* diving in
that plankton soup ya get in the summer. Sure! Just kick the ice aside and
jump right in. Ya don't hardly even notice it any more after yer lips go
numb. 'Course ya don't see too many of them wetsuit divers up here, but
when ya do, it sure is funny to see them shiverin' and squeelin' when they
hop in! What's even funnier is the way they don't talk much when they get
back out. And then, if there's a second dive, why you'd almost die laughin'
for the the way they look puttin' them cold wet suits back on again!

Well Billy, the only thing ya gotta look out for is for your reg to freeze
up. If it do, just stick it quick into the salt water and give it a good
shake. Might have to give it a couple of good whaps to get it to shut up.
Sometimes helps to breath back into it to give it some back pressure.
And while yer diving, just think about them hot rums you'll be drinking
after dinner while yer tellin' all yer buddies about how much fun it were!

Arrrrrr...
