#N:uiucdcs:23900013:000:591 uiucdcs!grunwald Dec 10 11:19:00 1982 In case anyone missed it, there was an article in the October issue of MINI-MICRO SYSTEMS, page 193-202 which talks about the "charles river data systems" 68000 system, which uses a cache and the VERSAbus memory for very fast operation. I think that they also have their own TTL MMU which they need to allow the 16 and 12.5 Mhz 68000s run at full tilt. Their unit, the Universe 68, model 05 comes with 5 1/4 winchester, 256Kb, 8-in floppy and is priced at less than $10,000. It runs the UNOS operating system, a UNIX/v7 lookalike. From their description, it also has co-processors for I/O.
