I am thinking of building a 68k-based system and would like to be able to port some of the existing CP/M and MS-DOS software that I am currently running and happy with on my H89 and (a friend's) IBM PC. Does anyone know of any tools or emulators that will allow me to run my programs on a 68k machine? Is there anything in the works if nothing is currently available? Given the speed and power of the 68k, what size performance degradation should I expect on the 68k running CP/M or MS-DOS software in emulation mode. Thanks in advance for any and all comments and assistance. ---Steve Ellis ---hogpc!she ---(American Bell, Lincroft)

I saw a demo of a product called MIMIX by TouchStone Software Corporation, 909 Electric Ave., Suite 308, Seal Beach, CA 90740, (213) 594 9266, at CP/M '83 in San Francisco. A very comprehensive product offering either use of an emulator to run a Z80 programtheir Z80 processor cards in a UN*X machine. What I saw at the show was running on a Zilog Z8002 system. This package offers file transfer from/to UN*X format and even communication to a remote Z-80 based machine/ They claimed to run on Z8000, 68000 and 16032 systems.
