Subject: Re: External 68000 box? The 68000 box you are talking about is made by: HSC Inc. 262 E. Main St. Frankfort, New York. 13340 (315) 895-7426 or (315) 895-7427 I have the 68000 version with the 768K memory option. The system seems very stable but the CP/M 68K OS has to go. Boy did DRI mess that one up! HSC was very helpful when I was installing the box. The best software that came with it was the CP/M 80 68000 cross assembler and debugger, both written by HSC. The rumor is HSC has plans to release two upgrades to the system. One is a hard/floppy disk controller and the other is a multi-port i/o board with timers and math processor. Not to sure about the math chip, better talk to HSC about that one. Also, rumor has it that HSC is working on a port of Unix* System V. Can't wait for that one. The only bad thing about the system is that it comes with CP/M 68k!!! I still haven't gotten the C compiler to compile yet and the DRI assembler has bugs. In all, I think the HSC box is pretty good for the money. If you purchase one don't buy the 512k memory option, get the 128k option. Its the same board with fewer chips. You can purchase your own 64k DRAMS and install them yourself, much cheaper.
