[net.micro.68k] Looking for a good SBC

[eat a peach]

I'm looking for a single board computer that uses a 68000 or
68010 or 68020 and has a hard disk and floppy disk interface
included. What I'm looking for is a unix machine at a hackers
price. Has anybody seen a machine like this? I've seen some
in Byte etc. but they appear too limited. In the case of the
68000 most SBC's don't even have memory management so I guess
they are for very limited uses. I've been doing a little research
on the different unix versions and have become quite confused.
What is the best implementation? I'm kind of leaning towards
xenix as I enjoy decoding microsoft manuals. Thanks.

Heurikon Corporation has a pretty neat single board computer
computer system. I believe that they also have a pretty nice
UNIX system built up around it. They have a 68000 processor,
memory management, Archive streamer tape interface, hard disk
or floppy disk interface, 4 serial ports, 2 SBX ports, 1 Meg
of memory, software controllable LED's and dip switches, 4
DMA channels, 3 timers. And all on one board!!

We have used them as dedicated controllers on a project at the
Geophysics Department at the Univ. of Wisconsin. We like them
a lot. They should make the base of a pretty nice UNIX system.

I'm not affiliated with the company, but I have a friend there,
so I'm not completely impartial.

  Their US mail address is:

      Heurikon Corporation
      3001 Latham Drive
      Madison, WI 53713

They just moved to bigger facilities recently. That is their old address.
Mail sent to that address will probably be forwarded properly.

    Their Bell address is:

       (608) 271-8700

    Their UNIX address is uwvax!heurikon!jeff

That's Jeff Mattox, their chief engineer.
