[net.micro.68k] Heurikon HK68 SBC: info. req.

rogerp@gymble.UUCP (Roger Pierson) (03/21/85)

We are currently considering (among others) the Heurikon HK68 single board
computer with the 10MHz 68010 option for use in one of our parallel computing
projects. We would very much appreciate any information on reliability,
as well as any good/bad experiences any of you have had with these boards.
We are considering this board primarily because it supports DMA (68450) to/
from 1MB ram all on board. The ram is a weak point because 1) it is slow
(3-5 wait cycles with parity and mmu @ 8MHz) and 2) 1MB onboard requires
double decker sockets (and reliability problems?). 1) may be resolved with
a new version of the board, the HK68M10, which reduces the memory access time
to 1 wait cycle. Again any information on this board (or pointers to others)
will be appreciated.
