[net.micro.68k] 68000 Newsletter

steve@kontron.UUCP (Steve McIntosh) (06/20/85)

The Dtack Grounded newsletter is put out by the Friendly Newsletter
Editor from the offices of Digital Acoustics. It is in my opinion
one of the best newsletters available today as it covers not only
the 68k, but also the industry and industry trends in general.

The FNE is outspoken and opinionated. However, he is very often
correct. The newsletter is a good reality test - it gets you to
re-think many of the things often taken for "true" without proof.

The latest issue (#42, June 85) includes topics such as:

    - Mackintosh meets IBM PC Guru Norton
    - Jacki (Jackintosh) and GEM
    - AT&T's 32-bit micro chip set
    - ULTIMATE-C eliminates HLL OVERHEAD!
    - The Very Strange World of DRAM Pricing
    - C HLL OVERHEAD (by Otherwise Intelligent)

and other less general topics. (By the way, in the above, ULTIMATE-C
is another label for assembly code.)

The masthead states that Dtack Grounded is the Journal of Simple
68000/32081 Systems and is available for $15 for 10 issues (US and
Canada, $25 for 10 issues elsewhere.) from:

Nearly right ... "Faithful Newsletter Editor" is more accurate. He *is*
always faithful but not always friendly ...

I agree.
