[net.micro.68k] MicroCornucopia Article on DSI-32

In article <338@oakhill.UUCP> Dave Trissel gave the current
(Feb 12, 1985) bug list for the 68020, one trivial error concerning
the LINK instruction.

I read in the August-September 1985 issue of Micro Cornucopia
on page 50, in an article entitled "The 32-Bit Super Chaps" by 5
authors from Definicon Systems, allegations that in the 68020:

     1. The barrel shifter does not work,
     2. The co-processor interface does not work,
     3. The data sheet AC characteristics cannot be met.

I suspect that, given magazine lead times, and the
manufacturer's possible reluctance to provide a bug sheet except
with a CPU chip, that these alleged bugs may have been cured some
time ago; but I would be interested in seeing on the net
(net.micro.68k) a rebuttal from Motorola, and any current
information of bugs/availability of the 68881 floating point unit.

In the same issue, the same authors describe the Definicon
DSI-32 Co-Processor, which plugs into an IBM PC and uses a 32032,
32081,and optional 32082 memory management unit and 1 MB of DRAM.
They mention the following software as being availab|e for their
board, C, Pascal Fortran, Assembler/Linker, Library manager/
Programmer's utilities, and a Public Domain software disk.

If you don't subscribe to MicroCornucopia and are interested
in the 32032 this might be a good issue to request (for $3).

                                Regards,
