I would like any information about the Motorola 68881 Floating Point Chip.
I am particularly interested in finding out if it conforms to the IEEE
standard for floating point representations and operations, how fast it
is (primitive operation speeds or benchmark comparisons with 32081 or VAX),
what state it is currently in (stable or buggy), and when it will really be
available. What clock rate(s) does it run at now and what clock rate will
it eventually run at? I will summarize responses to this newsgroup.
