[net.micro.68k] Microware's OEM support

steve@wlbr.UUCP (Steve Childress) (09/27/85)

Sean takes exception to my "no doubt that microware supports its OEMs"
statement and insists that I avoid such heresay.

I made that statement based upon personal experience in porting 8-bit
OS9 to the MILL-6809-enhanced Apple II. In that work, I found Microware to
be 1000% more cooperative than other houses which with I've dealt.

They supplied EVERY piece of source I asked for. I asked for only what
I needed which, as I recall, included the kernel, disk driver examples,
and the disk formatter.

So, Sean, my experience differs. I believe this is because there's a
great difference between a casual inquiry for productized packages and
a situation involving a mutually-beneficial, negotiated contract.

Steve:

I've heard of the Mill before. Is it still available?
